You Knew It Was Inevitable!

Okay! I know I get carried away, but, what can I say. I LOVE raccoons! I know the first couple of pictures aren't raccoons, but I had to put a little something extra in there! LOL
This little opossum has been coming around almost every night for the past week or so. He's camera shy, so I can only get one picture at a time, then he takes off for the rest of the night. Most people think they are terribly ugly, but being a nature lover, I think he's cute!

These crazy raccoons are constantly acting like little kids! They always try to nudge each other away from the food dish. If that doesn't work, which it never does, they start fighting, but that soon ends and they go back to eating again. I love just sitting inside my door watching them. They are so funny to watch. Taffy is the one with more gold to her color. She just came and visited me a little while ago, or I would have already had this posted and I would now be in bed! That's okay. She's worth it, although Chuck sometimes gets a little agitated with me for it. So, it's off to bed for me. Everybody have a good one. I'll hopefully see you tomorrow.
Love Ya
Lisa

Hi Lisa,
So glad you're back, finally. I've missed looking at all your great pictures!! Missed Taffy and her clan and now you have a new addition to your night visitors. I too, like possums. They're so ugly that they are cute, with a face only a mother could love, that's for sure.

These pictures are so cute Lisa. Truthfully, I think opossums are so ugly that they are cute!

Those raccoons are too cute. I love how they act like kids, fussing and fighting.

Dear Lisa ~~ A great lot of photos for
us to see. Thank you. Sorry you have had computer problems and hope they can be fixed. You have to have your own
rather than have to use the Library one.
I feel much better today, thank you for your concern my friend. Take care,
Love, Merle.

Great photos. We loved the little raccoons and their Momma that came here, but then we had some neighbors complain about it so we quite putting out food and after about three days, they left here, but she had four babies and the Mother would come out in the daytime. I think she kept the babies under our shed in the back, or the neighbors wood pile, this is the dumba** that complained to us. Have a great week-end.

We still have neighbors across the street and up several blocks that still have no electric.

Lisa: The racoons are cute but the opussum look like a big rat. Do the dogs get anything to eat.

Hi Tom. Strangely enough, I never have any dogs come around here. If they do, yes, they get to eat as well. I don't like seeing dogs running loose, too easy to get hit by cars.

Great photos Lisa! If you are feeding these furry little guys my guess you will be getting a lot more of them soon!

Hi Dan. I can only hope that more will show up. It started out with only one, but there are three or four that come around, just not at the same time. Two have the not so bushy tails, which are the two in these pictures, one has a very bushy tail, but hardly ever seen, and the last is almost all black, also hardly ever seen.

Hey Lisa, thanks for the kind comment on my blog. You do have quite the herd there. I was feeding the sea gulls at work for a while, then they started leaving their "calling card" in front of the door. Everybody had to step over it. I had to quit.

Wonderful to see raccoons so close by. They are beautiful animals. You must have a lot of space around your house! Thanks for sharing, Lisa!

Fantastic photos as usual - so cute

I was kept awake last night by one of the cats having a mad moment - not as exciting as your creatures, but still cute xx

Hi Lisa, That pinecone photo is fabulous. In our first home I used to have a raccoon that would come up on the deck and peek in the windows.

Hi Lisa! After a short break but a long absence, I’m finally back to the blogosphere and look what I found: raccoons everywhere... ;)
Probably too many around... ;))
Many thanks for your comments on Blogtrotter while I was off. It’s now on its way to Crete! Hope you enjoy and wish you a great week ahead!

LOL they are like naughty children. Unfortunately I can't encourage either opossums or raccoons here because if the opossums defacate or urinate on the horses' hay or where they graze it can have deadly effects. It can be the start of something called EPM (Too com[licated to explain, but I am sure you will find it if you surf for "EPM Horses") which was the reason we eventually lost our old stallion a few years ago. Everyone else will kill them but I just trap them and rezone them hoping they don't have young, I will bring them to live with you next time LOL

Found a dead skunk in the one horses' field this morning, no idea how or what killed it but I have the great task of burying it now and boy does it stink.

I love all types of animals even if they are not good for our particular environment LOL.

Taffy is becoming a true pet... and a star in the blogosphere! I recently told my husband that I never see 'possums around here anymore. They used to be so prevalent. But the raccoons are hanging around and I'm so glad they are.
Your shots of the hawk were spectacular. Getting one with the snake would have been a dream come true, but you still did great with the shots you got.

What adorable pictures! I love the possum shots...I don't know if we have any around here...but they are so cute! And of course how can you not love a raccoon!

I have had an opposum eating my cat food on my patio, too. I had a pet one when I was just 2 or 3 years old! My dad said I would reach right in and pick the thing up in front of hunters and they were all scared of it. I love animals of all kinds, too.
