The picture above is our courthouse clock tower. I did take a lot of pictures while I was without the web.
This is Grandpa's old corn crib. He only uses it for junk storage now. His fields are farmed by somebody else.
A Downey Woodpecker, male, I believe. They have started coming around a lot more lately.
This Blue Jay really looked depressed sitting in the bird bath. He sat there for quite a while. I got the shot by standing on the side of my bath tub and shooting out the top section of the window, to avoid the screen getting in my way.
This Sharp-shinned Hawk loves to try for a squirrel breakfast. So far, I haven't seen him catch any.
The funny thing is, if he knows I'm watching him, he'll just sit still. He won't chase the squirrels, even if they are on the same tree branch as he is.
This is an Argiope, or a garden spider. I accidentally stuck my hand in her web one day while I was picking tomatoes! Thank goodness, the spider wasn't near where I stuck my hand!
This was the first and only time I have ever seen birds eating out of the cat(or raccoon) dish. There was almost a dozen of them out there all at once, of course, I didn't get a shot of all of them.
This Red-tail Hawk is sick to death of me. I end up chasing him from one utility pole to the next trying to get a good shot of him. I'm sure he recognizes my car by now, and just stays hidden! LOL!
This is the courthouse again. Taken the same day as the antiqued shot above. I have been experimenting (playing) around with the different filters on Photoshop. These 2 are both under Render, then Lighting Effects, Then Blue Omni, then everything else is just adjusting the scales and color variations. I love the way both of them turned out.
This clock from the courthouse is now my computer wall paper.

Mom is feeling better. She was in the hospital for a couple of days a week or 2 ago. They gave her 2 pints of blood, and it has seemed to give her a little more strenth. She had her 4th chemo treatment yesterday. She is starting to lose a little of her hair, but not a lot. Lyle brought her over to my house this morning, even though she knew I would be working at the middle school cafeteria for lunch. So, she sat here and cleaned a bag full of concord grapes that I got from my friend, Nila. She just moved out to the country this past weekend. She has several apple trees, a pear tree, a peach tree, and a couple of grape vines. When Lyle came back to pick Mom up, he brought me a gallon of fresh pressed apple cider and a bushel of more concord grapes from my Uncle Dee's. I have been canning tomatoes, and last night, did my first batch of tomato juice. You talk about trashing a kitchen! I got tomato juice and seeds EVERYWHERE, including all over the little throw rugs that I just washed a couple of days before! Never fails!
Oh, I almost forgot. This Saturday is my mother's 50 year high school reunion. She wants me to come out and take pictures. Her friend, Patty, told her that there was already going to be somebody there to take certain pictures, but that I could come out to do some candid shots.
Gonna go for now and visit your posts.
Everybody take care and have a good evening/morning.
Love Ya
Lisa

Glad you're back! I love all the new shots, especially of the court house. Those are really neat! And, I'm happy to hear your mom is feeling a bit better. I'll keep her in my prayers!
Hi Lisa glad you're back! I am sorry to hear that your mum is having chemo therapy. I hope she will recover soon. I enjoyed seeing your photos and read the captions. The incident with the tomato juice is annoying, I know all about it!!!
Good luck with the computer. When I came back by the end of August I had no internet, so I called my provider and got a young man on the phone who guided me step by step and it worked!!!
Its an old truism in the UK - if you want a computer explained, or a jar with a safety lid opened - ask a 10 year old!
Great to have you back - and whilst i love all the photos of the birds my favourite shot is the close up of the clock face. Don't ask me why, i just like it is all xx
Well, here I am. I love all these photos. I also like your hawk photos. I think you are one of the best. I can just see you in the bathtub all stretched up to take that Blue Jay photo. Looks like he is molting too.
I call everything a Coopers Hawk as I have read all about the Sharp Shinned Hawk and think I have about 200 or more photos of one or more and his legs look skinny enough but I am not sure.
I have over 6,000 photos of Coopers Hawks and some are just amazing. I love wildlife and for the most part share their concerns for life.
You never did say what the computer problem was. I might be interested in knowing what the problem was and what the 15 year old did to solve it. Really.
Good morning, good to see you back and operating.
Yes, where your husband travels, 70 is about two miles north of us and 75 is about 15 miles east of us. He should see the Brookville exit as he goes by. I didn't see an e-mail address for you, so answering this way.
You do have another batch of good photos.
50th. High School Class Alumni, mine was three years ago. They did have a photographer there to take a class photo, which was nice. A couple of the people I did not recognize, because I had not seen them since we graduated, some looked really old, LOL And like that one post I did about a class reunion, it seemed like the slim ones got fat, the fat ones got slim and one still pretty much looked like she did in high school, I don't know if that meant plastic surgery or what and she still dressed just as wild looking. LOL Hope your Mother has a good time.
Isn't it amazing what these teenagers know about electronic items.
Tomorrow I go see my radiologist as a six month check up, hope this is my last visit with her. I see my oncologist every three months, so don't know why I have to see her, other then she can charge me, because the oncologist does the same thing she does.
Have a great day.
Welcome back Lisa. It looks like you have put your "free time" while you didnt have internet access, to good use. Love all the effects you have discovered, and you are getting to be a master of the Hawk!!! LOL. That poor little Blue Jay looks so unhappy, was it a particularly hot day? I never see Blue Jays here but I see a lot of the nuthatches so i'll send some of mine your way if you'll send some of yours LOL.
Glad to hear your Mom is feeling a bit better. The reunion should be fun, just make sure that if there is an official photographer there who has been hired to shoot, that he/she is okay with it, that is just photographers etiquette as so many of us support ourselves with our pictures, we can get pretty territorial. If they do have a problem, dont let it upset you, but try to respect their feelings too.
Will try to check in with you later, but I have my appointment at 3 and L wants me to go to Warren to collect some grain so I dont know how the day is going to turn out.
Good to see you on here again.
Lisa: So glad your back and you did get some great captures. Keep up the good work and will see you soon.
It's great to have you back and yes I quite believe that it was a fifteen-year-old who found the problem.
I love your photographs. The one with the birds eating from the raccoon bowl reminds me of my huge, pitch black, house spider eating from the cat bowl.
I'm glad that your mother is feeling better.
lol
right back among us with beautiful photos
Hi Lisa, Your nature shots are amazing. Be careful you don't fall out the window trying to get them. :) Last winter I was watching the birds eat at my birdfeeder and I was shocked when a hawk swooped down and grabbed a blue jay. Now I worry that he may try for my cat. My cat is a tiny little thing. Hope your computer is fixed up fine. I can't stand not having my computer not working. Early summer mine was really acting wonky and I finally took it in and had an overhaul. That really helped it run more smoothly. ~ Lynn
So glad you're back...and able to visit and leave comments...also share shots of all the little "critters"!
~Blessings,
Jan
Nice having you back! I was about to send a SWAT team! ;)
Cheers, Klaus

You have been a busy Lady taking all these lovely photo's love the old courthouse.. ill be back soon
So funny that a 15 year old out geeked the Air Force. That's the way it works now days - doesn't it. My 16 year old is passing me on programs I've worked on longer than her. It's not fair.
Love the pics. Especially the clock photos. You've got talent.
See you around Racoon Girl!
Great wonderful shot of the spider! And your photoshop rendering of the courthouse and the clock are special. It's great to have you back. I missed you!
