I Just Couldn't Resist!

Hi everybody. I went out for Chinese at lunch time yesterday(Monday). I just had to get a shot of this. Notice the billboard above the restaurant. I thought it would make a funny picture. No offense intended to anybody. I love Chinese food!
Glenna's Section
Glenna and Tim live in Anchorage, Alaska. Sunday, they went out driving around. The temperature was somewhere between 10 and 15 degrees below zero F. These are some of the pictures they took while they were out and about. There are truly only 3 pictures here. The rest are simply Photoshop. They e-mailed me the original pictures and I did the rest. These are all looking out at the ocean. I'm not sure which mountain that is across the bay. I know it's not Mount Redoubt. The first of each picture is the original.
The second is simply enhanced. It was very foggy there that day.
The third is slightly over-contrasted. You know how I love to over-contrast some pictures!
The forth is using the "watercolor" filter. The same with this set. First is the original.
The second is enhanced. The third is over-contrasted. The forth is the watercolor filter.
This set is a little different. Still the original on the first.
The second is antiqued.
The last is antiqued with spotlight added. Notice, it looks like sunlight hitting the water just left of the center of the page.
They asked me to post these pictures on my blog, so here they are for you to enjoy!
Gonna go for now. I will probably post again tomorrow. I went out on Sunday myself and took some pictures. I wasn't very happy with the results for the most part, but I did get a couple good shots.
Good night, or good morning. Which ever applies to you when you read this.
Love Ya
Lisa

love the chinese sign one. lol You pics make me miss Alaska. Looks like Cook Inlet if they are outside of Anchorage. Summit Lake Lodge is where I worked for Two summers. Before being stationed there in the army. You get used to the cold. It's a beautiful place.

Good morning, I love Chinese also. Love going to a Chinese Buffet, that way I can sample different things. But when I go to one where I have to place an order, I usually get Kung Pao Chicken and Hot Sour Soup. I'm sure you have seen or heard the one about the cat's in the kettle. If not copy this and paste in your browser and to listen, it is funny.

Good Morning Lisa, I always enjoy your photos and I absolutely love the bird photos. You should send some of those into a magazine. I took photos of the horses this past Sunday too. It was the first time I had seen 'Bama rolling around on his back. I always think the horses look funny laying down. I always wonder if they are okay. Guess I am not much of a country girl. :) Hope you are having a great week. ~ Lynn

Hi Ethan. Yes, it is Cook Inlet. I was talking to Glenna while I was reading the comments.

Patty, thanks for the link. That was hilarious!

It's raining here. We are supposed to have thunderstorms later, then snow! High of 60 degrees F, then a low of 32 degreesF. :( I am so ready for winter to be over. I wouldn't mind the snow so much if they could figure out how to mix something into the asphalt to prevent ice and snow from sticking to the roads. If I were ultra-rich, I would offer a reward to the first person to come up with such a concoction!
Take care.

Dear Lisa ~~ Love all your photos and loved the ones of the pretty birds in an earlier post.
Thank you for your comment and concern about the dreadful fires we are having in Victoria. I am not close to any of them fortunately.
I guess I am about an hour's drive away in several directions. But they are getting on top of most of them.
Glad you enjoyed the post. Take care,
Love, Merle.

LOL, unfortunate place for that sign;)

What a barren, bitter cold looking place (in the photos). It makes northern Illinois look positively tropical;)

Your photos are beautiful and fascinating. I like the 2nd picture in all three of the sets best. Your pictures make me want to play around a bit with photoshop.

I have never eaten there, Larry put me off when I first came over here with a story I won't complete but then he was talking 20 years ago and three owners ago LOL. I love chinese, in London every little shopping complex (and there are many) has an Indian Takeaway, a Chinese Takjeaway, a Hardware, a General Supply shop if you run out of something and a Post Office agency. It really is convenient. The apartment (flat) that I lived in there was above the pharmacy that I worked in the photo lab. Each shop has an apartment above it. Ours had just been renovated and carpeted by he guy I worked for and was very nice. I must find some pics I took of it. They are all accessed by a steep set of stairs right alongside the doorway to the shop below. I could see the millenium wheel from my bedroom window (very small but I could see it LOL).

I digress, that just brought back that memory.
