There is a pond across the street from our hospital. I see the geese flying across in the evenings from my back yard, and found out that this is where they are landing.
There was a minimum of 50 out there yesterday. A lady who is a caregiver for a couple in the apartment complex beside this pond said she had counted 130+ a couple of days ago! They will only hang out here at this pond for a couple of weeks, according to the caregiver.
I just about froze, standing out there taking pictures!
I wasn't wearing any kind of jacket. The temperature was around 40 degrees F, but it was rather windy. I only wore jeans and a tee-shirt.
My hands were the coldest!
I wish I could have gotten some closer pics of them, like I did at the horse show in New Castle last August.
I didn't get a chance to see any of them flying in or away this time.
I'm going to get off here and start working on fixing dinner.
Everybody take care and have a great rest of the week. I hope we don't get the snow that they are calling for tonight. I'm OVER IT!!!!!! My garden and flower bed are hollering for me! :)
Love Ya
Lisa

I love the close up shot of the two birds - looks like you had a fantastic time, even with the cold!
I like to watch the geese when they're nesting, and I like to see all the babies following along behind their parents....but...the mess they make is incredible. Goose poop everywhere!!!!
Great pictures Lisa! I can't believe you were out there without any warm clothes on. I reckon that's what great photographers do though. Enjoy your day!
Aren't they magnificient creatures? You got some great shots of them, too! Really lovely to look at, aren't they?
Hope you didn't get that snow that was forecasted for your area. I have an old friend, actually she's been my best friend for 42 years now, who lives in Muncie, and she's ready to be done with winter weather, too. Hang in there...it's almost over with!
((( HUGS )))
Well, we got the snow, but it was only a light dusting. It's bad enough to make the secondary road slick, though. It is only 15 degrees out right now, and rather windy. Hopefully, it will melt soon.

Beautiful pix. I love that you were able to get the goose in the first pic in mid-flight on the take off or landing (not sure which).
I'm passing by from seeing a comment on another blog.
Your photos are very nice, I've enjoyed my visit. :-)

Lisa I am sure there was a lot of honking as you froze taking these awesome images! It surprises me how many of our Canada geese stay here in the snow and freezing temps...I'm glad of that because like you I love to shiver in the cold freeze my fingers taking their
portraits!...What we do to post on our blogs!!!! LOL. hugs Anna..
*Honey* says hi too!
Dear Lisa ~~ Wonderful photos.
Thank you for freezing and taking them and then sharing your great efforts. I love them all.
Thanks for your comments and the fires are still burning, but not near homes at present. Glad you liked the jokes, "that's when the fight started" and also that Dave guy
- he sure was an arrogant fellow.
Take care, my friend. Winter is on it's way out. Love, Merle.
I just love your geese! 40 degrees? Awesome!
My favourite is the one with all the geese in a line - lovely.
Good of you to freeze your hands to get us such lovely photos.
I was out at Lake Placid taking Geese pics the other day....very cold!! Glad you found my blog! :) Hope to see you tomorrow night!
Lisa I am sorry now that I didn't kick myself a little harder in the butt and get over there to see these guys when you called, but you know how it is. Really nice shots. Unfortunately pictures are only as good as the light you are shooting in and when it is overcast they tend to look a bit bland and soft but these are wonderful and portray that winter feel nicely.
Nice pictures...
Lovely! We have lots of geese here near my house. They fly around, and walk around alot near our small lake--I actually consider it more of a pond, but in any case, your shots of these guys are delightful. I don't think our geese would stand still; they're pretty assertive here. I get hissed at, by them, quite alot.(sigh)
