Long But Fun Weekend

Thank you to Nancy for these awards. She left a comment on my last posting to come over and pick them up.
Lori and I got back from the horse show about 9:00 last night. Both days of the show lasted longer than planned, but I didn't mind. The weather cooperated for the most part. Saturday, it looked like it wanted to rain, but passed over. It was in the 80's both days. A lot of very nice horses and ponies. A lot of different show categories, but don't ask me what they were! LOL I don't know if I am allowed to post any pictures from the show on the blog yet. I will have to check with Lori. This is her show. She has most of my pictures any way. I only have about 200 from the end of the show. Poor Lori kept saying "oh my gosh, you're probably cursing me for bringing you with me. You'll never want to come with me again." No Lori, I was not cursing you, and yes, I would go again. I will put up a few pictures from the drive back, since I don't know about being allowed to post show pics. Don't expect much, they were taken at 55 MPH!
Old delapidated barns are my favorite to photograph. These were several, but I didn't get many shots of them. This was the sunbeams shooting down through the clouds on the way home. I took several of the same type shots on the way up there, but they are currently on Lori's computer from transferring all the show pics. I don't know what river this is, but I over-contrasted it because I couldn't get the proper colors to come out. It was getting dark, so I didn't have good exposure. My friend Fredi sent me this in an e-mail today. I thought it was kinda cute. Today is sister's day, send this to all your sisters even me if I am like one. If you get back 7, you are loved. Happy Sister's Day! I LOVE YA SISTA'!!! :-) Girlfriend and Sister's Week I am only as strong as the coffee I drink, the hairspray I use and the friends I have To the cool women that have touched my life. Here's to you! National friends Day What would most of us do without our sisters, confidants and shopping, lunching, and traveling s? Let's celebrate each other for each other's sake! TO MY FRIENDS! If you get this twice you know you have more than one friend. Be Happy! PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO ALL OF YOUR FRIENDS AND RETURN IT TO THE FRIEND WHO SENT IT TO YOU! It is good be a woman:

Gonna go for now. Have a lot of errands to run, including going over to Ball Memorial Hospital to see my mother. She still has not gotten the results of her biopsy from Friday. They are still doing tests. She may get to go home either tomorrow or the next day. She doesn't know yet. I'll try to post again tonight. Love ya Lisa

Excellent photos. Not sure how you get the writing on them, they look like postcards!

Good luck to your Mom!

Hi Lisa
Thanks again for your help, I was so worried you would be worn out LOL and never speak to me again!!

Yes you can post pics on the blog from the show, no problem.

Copyright is a funny thing and very complicated, you cannot post an image with a person in it unless you have a model release but only if you are intending to use it to advertise your business or for commercial(calendar, book cover, packaging label etc. where you will make money, without getting this permission. The pictures of the ponies and no people can be used for whatever you like, you don't need a release to use those for anything. Also this will be a good learning exercise for everyone who reads your blog too, it is NEVER alright to pick ANY photo off the web or out of a book to post or use anywhere unless you have the permission of the person who pressed the shutter, and that includes pictures that do not carry a signature or copyright symbol. It is automatic that the person who takes the picture is the owner of the photo and permission should be sought before using them, even if they are bad snapshots, it applies to all pictures and the text has these copyright rules as well.

OK lecture over, just another part of my life as a photographer which you had a little glimpse at this weekend ((((((Hugs))))))

You are so welcome for the awards. You are a faithful commenter and a faithful blogger, so you are very deserving of them! Did you copy both of them? There's another one on an earlier post, too, or you can pick it up from my sidebar....5-Star Blogger, cause THAT you are! So you are welcome to take that one, too, if you like. Anyone who puts the time in that it takes to blog certainly deserves these awards. I couldn't just pick 7, no way, so I passed them on to all of my regular readers!

Loved the little kitty picture!
