A Real Scorcher!

It got pretty toasty out today. Granted, it was only about mid 80's, but the humidity was a killer! Thankfully, this evening cooled down nicely. It's 60 degrees currently. Not too humid. Cool enough to open the windows for the night. Even though I had to work today, I was able to get a few good shots. Got a couple good ones of the storm clouds yesterday as well.
This morning, I caught one of the squirrels eating the suet cake. I didn't know they would like that. Also managed to get a shot of a vulture flying over. They roost in the neighbor's trees.
I also got bored again, and started over contrasting a couple of pictures.
I'm off work again tomorrow and Friday. I have to go back out to my mother's tomorrow and work on cleaning the downstairs of the house again. I hope we get it all done tomorrow, so Lori and I can go out picture taking on Friday.
Gonna go for now. Everybody have a good evening/morning. Hopefully I'll see you tomorrow.
Love Ya
Lisa

All great pictures. My preferences are the Jay and the squirrel. Amazing what they'll do for food.

Thanks Lisa, for the visit it's so nice to meet so many people and see all those stunning photos! Yours are great, and so lovely coloured. I like animal pictures! The eagle is really magnificent.

Great photos. Magnificent
vulture. It's been hot and humid here also, in fact Monday was a horrible day.

Hello Lisa,
I just saw your comment over at For The People, and was very excited by your monicker, Raccoon Lover. I just posted a picture of a dead raccoon at my blog today. I know it sounds sick but it's actually a tribute.
Are you an expert on raccoons? We have a situation at our house that is very troubling. We feed the raccoons and skunks and all has been well, but the raccoons have begun to climb and stay up on our giant sequoias. They have stripped the decade-old bark covering and I'm really concerned about our precious trees. Do you have suggestions for our dilemma? I really don't have the energy it will take to try to trap them, especially since they mingle with the skunks and I'm not crazy about trapping a skunk!
I like your blog lots (except the black background with white printing is a bummer on over-50s eyes and I can't read for long, which is sad).
Have a great evening.

NO FAIR you didnt tell me you got the Blue Jay so well!!!! Sheesh I am gonna have to lock you in the house at this rate LOL. I like the high key flower shot, it would probably look great printed on an inkjet printer on watercolor paper.

Fingers crossed that we will get some photography in tomorrow, but Larry only gets back into bed after lunch and as a result my mornings are a write off for getting my stuff done! Maybe I will just have to sneak out and leave him in peace and quiet for a few hours LOL.

((((Hugs)))))

Regarding the bluejay, you said you would have to lock me in the house. Sorry, but I WAS in the house. Standing on the dining room chair out the window!

Lydia, thank you for stopping by. I hate to disappoint you, but no, I am not an expert on raccoons. I would love to be an expert, but I am only a huge fan of the raccoon. We had 2 of them as pets when I was little. I have loved them ever since. I really don't know what you could do for them. Your best bet is to call your local county office that deals with agriculture and wildlife. They would be happy to help. That's what I had to do when I was finding all kinds of birds dead in my yard. As a matter of fact, call this number. It is to Purdue University's wildlife experts. The girl I spoke to is Kim. 800-893-4116. Even though you are in Oregon, and Purdue is here in Indiana, they should still be able to help with your dilemma. Hope everything goes well. Keep me posted.

Fugazi I visited the photo contest and gave you my vote, it is a great shot, lovely.

Lisa if you were already in the house then I guess there is an old saying "You cant keep a good guy down" LOL. Oh well I will just have to resign myself to the fact that I have competition.

Sigh!!!

Lisa,
Thank you so much for your effort in providing me with info that may assist with my raccoon dilemma. I really appreciate it and will jot the number down for sure. You must have lots of land around your place to have such an abundance of wildlife. You get some beautiful shots. That blue jay is perfect! We have many blue jays but I've never attempted to get a photo of them.
The white background with dark print is a treat and you are great to try this format. *See what your other readers prefer before committing.* I've read so much about it in Ronni Bennett's blog (see my blogroll for "Time Goes By.."). She has an under 50's blogroll, and a huge over 50's blogroll and absolutely won't list anyone with the black bkgrnd format.
I look forward to see what/who you've captured in your lens next week. :)
